A Complete K-12 Education Pathway

 

Anchors Academy, one of Hong Kong’s premier STEAM innovation private schools, proudly announced a major expansion of its educational offering with the launch of a dedicated Junior Secondary division for Years 7 to 9 at its Yuen Long campus*. The school also formed a strategic partnership with the UK's historic St Bees School, founded in 1583, to co-establish St Bees (Anchors) Sixth Form College in Hong Kong*. These pivotal developments formally complete a 15-year seamless, premium international educational pathway at Anchors Academy, enabling students to progress from Kindergarten through Primary and Secondary graduation within one coherent educational ecosystem.

 

Anchors Academy Extension to Junior Secondary (Years 7 to 9)

 

Anchors Academy will extend to Junior Secondary (Year 7 to 9) at its Yuen Long campus*. Upon careful consideration on the feasibility and in consultation with the Education Bureau, we will utilise our school space and adjust the layout of our school to support a best-in-class junior secondary school, with classrooms, science laboratory, ICT suite and other facilities fitted for secondary school standards.

 

The Junior Secondary curriculum will be an integral part of the Anchors educational experience, continuing our unique blend of an internationalised curriculum (UK National Curriculum, Key Stage 3) and Hong Kong curriculum. By incorporating STEAM and future-ready skills, the curriculum ensures students develop mastery of interdisciplinary learnings and well-prepared for the challenges ahead.

 

 

 

Students who successfully complete our Primary Year 6 will be promoted to Year 7 to continue their junior secondary education. We will recruit a highly qualified teaching team for the junior secondary division to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for local and international examinations and higher education.

St Bees (Anchors) Sixth Form College 

 

To fulfill the senior secondary phase of its K-12 educational blueprint, Anchors Academy has formed a strategic partnership with UK's historic St Bees School (https://www.stbeesschool.co.uk/) to establish St Bees (Anchors) Sixth Form College in Hong Kong. The new campus will be located in West Kowloon city centre with easy access to railway station. St Bees School is renowned for its long history and exceptional academic achievements, with a significant number of graduates from its UK and China campuses successfully gained admission to top-tier universities in the UK and worldwide, including the University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, King's College London, and the University of Manchester, University of Hong Kong, University of Toronto, University of New South Wales, and more. Notable alumnus includes Mr Rowan Atkinson (Mr Bean). The Senior Secondary Curriculum will build upon this excellence and the foundation laid at Anchors, students may choose the international stream with UK curriculum's IGCSE and GCE A-level/ iAL qualifications or follow the local curriculum for the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination. The onboarding of former Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Cambridge University in the School Board will ensure the school stays aligned with the highest standard possible. Students will have sample lectures embedded in their curriculum to allow in-depth understanding of university courses from top universities. Some of these courses will be provided by Cambridge or Oxford professors to give the most intriguing and rewarding experience to our students.

 

All Anchors Academy Year 9 students will transfer to St Bees (Anchors) Sixth Form College directly, which completes the K-12 through-train educational pathway from Kindergarten to Secondary school.
